Club-9

For those looking to find the appropriate speaking group to help them develop their communication and leadership skills, they need look no further than SA Rostrum Club 9.

For those looking to find the appropriate speaking group to help them develop their communication and leadership skills, they need look no further than SA Rostrum Club 9.

Commencing in 1958, R9 has been a leader in Rostrum in this state and regularly has success in the Rostrum Speaker of the Year competition.  The Convenor of Rostrum’s only service project, namely the Voice of Youth Competition is a member, which is a public speaking competition for secondary students and helps to build their self confidence.

Club 9 has many Accredited Critics (Coaches) and we offer a mentor to each new member to encourage development of their potential to help them start their speaking journey.  Importantly, 25% of the members are new to the club and each novice member is encouraged to learn at their own pace and develop the skills most important to them (see Club 9 Visitor's Guide for more information).

The common feedback received from visitors is that they find it very welcoming and they are happy to return.  Essentially, the meetings always contain much humour and members have a lot of fun and look forward to each meeting.

The club convenes upstairs at 12.45pm at Kappy’s Cafe, 53 Flinders Street, Adelaide and concludes about 1.40pm.  Kappy’s is just east of Gawler Place on the Southern side and offers good food and coffee within a private meeting room.

Why do the members continue to remain members?  Well, it is because great friendships are built, wonderful speeches are heard and enjoyed.  In summary, we are a friendly group that offers development, good speaking exercises and we conclude feeling stimulated.

If you would like to attend, please contact Peter Martindale on 0418 820 702 or by email at petermd@internode.on.net.
